I don’t want to like any of the Merivale bars but I just can’t help myself. Hemmesphere is one of my favourite rooms in the city and now there is the sumptuous IVY.
First reactions, the service was abysmal, it was a Wednesday evening, it was pretty quiet, there were loads of staff and still it took 10 minutes to get a bottle of beer. For a new venue of this size and financial outlay I want to be greeted, shown to a seat and then plied with alcohol all night. The decor is amazing and on the weekend it’s going to be on everyone’s list, if only for a quick look around. I love to hate it. Sort the service out and I’ll just plain love it.
