Some amazing global street art

Kill Pixie

kill-pixie.jpg

I assume you’re aware of Kill Pixie if you take even a passing interest at dustbins and seedy corners of seedy buildings, just in case…

This was snapped at the end of Riley Street close to William Street and a hop skip and a jump from The Lord Roberts which does any schooner for $3.50 on a Saturday and fish and chips for $6. It’s also got a beer garden upstairs and the staff – whilst they ain’t pretty – are brilliant. A great Saturday boozer.

This is vandalism?

Sydney Stencil Festival

sydney-stencil-festival_need-more-stencils.jpg    sydney-stencil-festival-shhh.jpg

The Sydney Stencil Festival has been and gone. As a keen follower of street art here in Sydney and also in Melbourne and London I had high hopes for simple, yet striking work. I was disappointed.

The ‘live spraying’ was amateur at best and the works for auction were overpriced and far from inspiring. There were a few good pieces on show but all had been sold.  The guy running it, JP, needs a run for his money. This event can be bigger, better, more accessible and provide creative work we’d actually want to hang.

Am I being to tough on them? No, and if you visited I suspect you’ll agree. I’ll post pictures from the day and you can make your own mind up.
