	Community Helping Hand Association Inc
Where/ How you can Donate: To donate clothing or surplus cotton fabrics to Community Helping Hand Association, please contact The Smith Family on 02 4961 3095. Clothing is received in Newcastle and the Hunter, the Central Coast, Taree, Forster/Tuncurry, North Coast, the Namoi, New England and adjacent areas. What happens with your donation: The Community Helping Hand Association is a Hunter region-based, charity run wholly by volunteers and receives NO government funding or other special support. Our priority is the optimal financial return able to be generated from the limited funds the Association has invested and is dependent on the goodwill and support of local and regional communities in general and on business clients in particular. A relatively small portion of the clothing available to our recycling business – about 5% – is considered to be of a quality suitable for our disadvantaged clients. The majority of clothing and other cotton materials received – about 80% – is cut to produce wiping cloths that are sold to commercial and industrial businesses throughout northern NSW. There is about 15% wastage, the responsible disposal of which costs the Association significant funds. If you have any clothing which you feel is too good to simply throw away you may bring them to your nearest family store. What happens with your donation: “No where does a bag of clothing do more good than in a Family Store”. 	St Vincent de Paul Society
Where/ How you can Donate: St Vincent de Paul collection bins are located in many convenient positions and are often a handy place to deposit such items. Another option is to deposit the items at your local Vinnies Centre. You can search for your nearest store/centre using the services locator. To arrange for collection, please contact your nearest Vinnies depot or store. [Note: Not all areas are able to collect furniture, food and/or white goods, or supply Vinnies bins.] Your donation of any of the following items will be greatly appreciated: Furniture; White goods; Books; Clothing; Household goods; Bric-a-brac; Clothing; Toys; Blankets; Food (non perishable) – not past the expiry date please. 	The Smith Family
Where/ How you can Donate: To donate clothing to The Smith Family, please contact The Smith Family on 1300 737 166. Clothing can be collected in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Wollongong, Newcastle, Wagga Wagga, Albury and the Central Coast NSW. What happens with your donation: The priority is to ensure the optimal financial return is generated from the funds the organisation has invested. We do so currently by operating a nonwoven textiles manufacturing business as well as a clothing recycling and retail business. Only a relatively small portion of the clothing made available to our recycling business -approximately 5% – is of the quality such that it is either made available to clients of our Emergency Help activities who are in crisis, or is sold through our Retail Stores network. The majority of clothing -approximately 50% -is exported, primarily into Asia, the Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. Items no longer suitable for use as clothing due to rips, staining, etc may be cut to produce wiping cloths. This accounts for approximately 15% of the total recycled volumes of clothing.
